New Shelf

I made James work really hard this week. Not only did he have to clean up the yard for our party, but he made me a new shelf for the bathroom. It's not quite done, but it's a start. The wall was just so barren that it needed something. I'll eventually need some other things to fill the shelf. I'm welcome to any ideas. I found the blue Ball jars for a steal at an antique shop that was going out of business. I got them all for about $3.00. I filled them with beach glass and tea lights. The one on the right has lavender that I bought from Debbie's booth. I put my Scentsy tealight in the middle. I'm going to have James also put little hooks on the flat parts so I can hang something on them. Any ideas for that are more than welcome also.

My flower beds this year blooms some surprises. These daisy's weren't there last year and I didn't plant them. They magically appeared and started blooming. I think they're a great addition to this bed.
I also got a great deal on some bulbs. Because it's close to the end of the season bulbs were marked down 75%. I wasn't prepared for them to do really well this year, but low and behold here's the first one. I can't remember the name but it's a kind of daffodil. I love that it's so different looking.
My lilies did really well this year too. I think they overcame the shock of transplanting them last year.
Well, let me know if you have any ideas for my new shelf! I can't wait to hear them!

Refurbished Fairies

I have two garden fairies that have suffered some serious sun damage over the years. Slowly I've been working on repainting them so they can rejoin my flowers.
I only have 1 before picture, but there is pretty much no color left in either of them.

This one turned out to be my favorite when it was finished. Although I'm far from being a professional painter, I think it turned out pretty well.
This one turned out pretty well too. The big rose on top is a solar light, so I keep it by my stairs so I can see when I get home from work.
I love these little garden fairies! I'm always on the lookout for more to add, but it seems like they're hard to find.
Until next time,

Wishing I could comment

I know that this blog is set up as a free site, but it's really frustrating when I can't comment. For some reason I can comment on a few profiles, then others won't let me at all. Oh well, I guess I will just have to find a way around it. Anyways, for those of you who think I've forgotten, I've still been keeping an eye on you. Hopefully I'll be able to write you soon!

Finally Some Jewelry

I've been really slacking on getting some pictures of my jewelry up here. These last few weeks have been really busy. The biggest thing holding me back is that I have a ton of pieces made but I have to take pictures of them all. This was a bigger project than I thought! Well, so far I only have a few necklaces done, but hopefully soon I'll be able to get the rest up.
This on is a favorite of mine.

This is another. I love these drop beads that I found forever ago.

These are what I call a "floating" necklace. I use crimping beads to make it look like the beads are floating around your neck.

These gold beads are hand-wrapped with black wire.

Turtle necklace
I know the stone rabbit pendent is a little weird, but I love it with the pieces of jasper.

I love that this one has a Gothic feel to it.

This was my first experiment making a choker. I didn't really have a great way to display it. There is some give to the necklace so that if gives you some breathing room.

This green one took me forever. I had to had attach all the little pieces to make a woven pattern.

These are some more chokers made with memory wire. They will stretch to fit, but maintain their shape.
